The Mala Ilomska is a small river in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a "tributary," which means it's a smaller river that flows into a larger one. The Mala Ilomska flows into the Ilomska river. The Ilomska then joins the Ugar river. This little river is only about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) long. It is found in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the town of Skender Vakuf.
Where the River Begins
The Mala Ilomska river starts in a special place called Petrovo polje. This name means "Peter's field." It is located on the lower slopes of a hill called Omarike. This hill is part of the larger Vlašić mountain range.
How it Forms
This small river is quite unique because it is formed from seven different springs and tiny streams. These springs bubble up from the ground in the Petrovo polje area. The main source of the river is high up, at about 1230 meters (4,035 feet) above sea level. One of these springs is known as Bijeljino spring. It is located close to a small group of houses called Nikodinovići. The Mala Ilomska does not have any other big rivers or streams flowing into it along its short journey.
