Ugar (river) facts for kids
The Ugar is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's like a smaller river that flows into a bigger one, and the Ugar is a tributary of the Vrbas River. For a while, until 1878, it was known by a different name, Brzica.
About the Ugar River
The Ugar River is about 44.5 kilometers (around 27.6 miles) long. The area of land that collects water for the Ugar, called its drainage basin, is about 328 square kilometers (around 126.6 square miles).
Where the Ugar Starts
The Ugar River begins high up on the slopes of a mountain called Vlašić. This is near the villages of Sažići and Melina. The river starts at a high point, about 1590 meters (5,217 feet) above sea level. This area is important because it's where water also flows to other rivers like the Vrbanja, Ilomska, and Bila rivers.
