Malcolm Lynch (born March 16, 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played for two teams in the top league, the Australian Football League (AFL). These teams were the Western Bulldogs and the North Melbourne Football Club.

Early Life and Football Beginnings

Malcolm Lynch was born on March 16, 1988. His home was the Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory of Australia. He grew up playing football there. Later, he received a special scholarship. This allowed him to attend Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview in Sydney.

In 2006, Malcolm was chosen for the "Flying Boomerangs" team. This was Australia's Indigenous youth team. They went on a tour to South Africa. During this tour, they played a match against the South African Buffaloes. This team is South Africa's national Australian rules team.

Playing in the AFL

In 2007, Malcolm Lynch was picked by the Western Bulldogs in the 2007 AFL Draft. He was selected as the 66th player overall. He played some games with the Bulldogs' partner team, the Williamstown Football Club. This team plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Malcolm made his first AFL appearance in 2007. This was in round 12 against the Fremantle Dockers. He played two senior games for the Western Bulldogs. After the 2009 AFL season, he was no longer part of the team. This is called being "delisted."

A Unique Adventure

In 2010, Malcolm Lynch achieved something very special. He became the first Indigenous Australian to visit Antarctica. This was a truly unique journey for him.

Second Chance in the AFL

Malcolm got another chance to play in the AFL in 2012. He was drafted by North Melbourne as the 46th pick. This happened during the 2012 Rookie Draft. However, he did not play any senior games for North Melbourne. After the 2012 AFL season, he was delisted again.
