Malcolm Lynch, born on March 16, 1988, is a former professional Australian Rules Football player. He played for two teams in the Australian Football League (AFL). These teams were the Western Bulldogs and the North Melbourne Football Club.

Malcolm Lynch's Early Life and Football Journey

Malcolm Lynch grew up in the Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory, Australia. He loved playing football there. His talent was noticed, and he received a special scholarship. This scholarship allowed him to attend Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview in Sydney.

Representing Australia

In 2006, Malcolm was chosen for a special team called the "Flying Boomerangs." This team is made up of talented Indigenous youth from Australia. They went on a tour to South Africa. During this tour, they played a game against the South African Buffaloes. This was South Africa's national Australian Rules team.

Playing in the AFL

Malcolm Lynch was first chosen by the Western Bulldogs in the 2007 AFL Draft. This is like a special selection event for new players. He was the 66th player picked overall.

Debut with the Western Bulldogs

After playing well with the Western Bulldogs' reserve team, Malcolm made his first AFL game. This happened in Round 12 of the 2007 AFL season. He played against the Fremantle Dockers. Malcolm played two senior games for the Bulldogs. He then left the team at the end of the 2009 AFL season.

A Unique Achievement

In 2010, Malcolm Lynch did something very special. He became the first Indigenous Australian person to visit Antarctica. This is the coldest continent on Earth. It was a truly unique adventure for him.

A Second Chance in Football

Malcolm got another chance to play in the AFL in 2012. He was chosen by North Melbourne in the 2012 Rookie Draft. He was the 46th player picked in this draft. However, he did not play any senior games for North Melbourne. He left the team at the end of the 2012 AFL season.
