Early Life and High School Basketball
Malcolm Mackey grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He went to Brainerd High School. Even in high school, he was a standout basketball player.

College Career at Georgia Tech
After high school, Malcolm went to college at Georgia Tech. He played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball team from 1989 to 1993.
