Malika Auger-Aliassime was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her father, Sam Aliassime, is from Togo, and her mother, Marie Auger, is from Quebec. She grew up in a place called L'Ancienne-Lorette, which is a suburb near Quebec City.

Malika has a younger brother named Félix, who is also a well-known tennis player. She first started playing tennis when she was six years old. In her early years, she trained at the Académie de Tennis Hérisset-Bordeleau in Quebec City. Her father, Sam, was her coach during that time. Since 2015, Malika has been living in Montreal.

Starting Her Professional Career

Malika Auger-Aliassime began her professional tennis career in 2015. She made her first professional appearance at the 2015 Coupe Banque Nationale tournament in September. In this tournament, she played in the qualifying first round but did not win.

She also made her debut on the WTA Tour at the same event. The WTA Tour is where professional women's tennis players compete. Malika received a special invitation, called a wildcard, to play in the doubles main draw with her partner, Charlotte Petrick. However, they were defeated in the first round by the team of Barbora Krejčíková and An-Sophie Mestach.
