Malory Towers is a super popular series of six books written by the famous English author Enid Blyton. These stories are all about a girls' boarding school, which is a bit like a school where students also live. Enid Blyton got the idea for the school from one her own daughter went to, called Benenden School. The books follow the main character, Darrell Rivers, as she has lots of adventures and new experiences at this school. Darrell's name was inspired by Enid Blyton's second husband, Kenneth Darrell Waters.
Later, in 2009, another author named Pamela Cox wrote six more books for the series. These new stories happen after Darrell has left Malory Towers and focus on her younger sister, Felicity Rivers.

The Story of Malory Towers
Darrell's School Life
Darrell Rivers starts her first year at Malory Towers. This school looks like a castle and is located on a cliff by the sea in Cornwall. Darrell wants to do well and make friends. Her first term is a bit wild. She sometimes has trouble controlling her temper. Also, her attempts at being funny don't always work out. By the end of the first book, Darrell becomes best friends with Sally Hope.
After her first term, Darrell's time at Malory Towers becomes much smoother. She ends up being very successful in her studies, sports, and making friends. She becomes the head of the fourth form (a student leader). She is also the games captain for the fifth form. In her final year, she becomes the head girl, which is the top student leader. Darrell is also a great player in lacrosse and tennis.
When Darrell is in the fourth form, her younger sister, Felicity, joins the school as a first former. From then on, the books also follow Felicity and her friends, especially June. June is the mischievous cousin of Alicia, another student. Darrell is important in all the books. Even though she isn't always perfect, she usually fixes things. For example, she temporarily lost her captaincy when she shook a younger girl named June. June was threatening to tell a secret about a midnight feast. But Darrell got her captaincy back by solving a tricky problem between two sisters. Darrell gets along with most of her classmates. She even makes peace with Gwendoline Lacey, a vain and selfish girl, when Gwendoline faces a sad event.
At the end of her school years, Darrell plans to go to the University of St Andrews with her best friend, Sally Hope. She asks her younger sister Felicity to keep up the good standards that she and her friends set at Malory Towers.
Felicity's School Life
The second series of six books follows Felicity from her third year until her last term at Malory Towers.
In the seventh book, New Term at Malory Towers, Felicity has to deal with friends who are too clingy. She also faces a snobby new girl named Amy, who becomes her enemy. In the eighth book, Summer Term at Malory Towers, the girls help Darrell’s friends. Someone tries to cause trouble for their new horse riding stables.
The ninth book, Winter Term at Malory Towers, shows the challenges of putting on a good school show. The girls also deal with a bossy girl named Sylvia, a grumpy girl named Olive, and a teacher named Miss Tallant who interferes too much. Millicent and June have disagreements in Fun and Games at Malory Towers. The girls must choose between music and sports. The eleventh book, Secrets at Malory Towers, brings back a familiar face from the second book. Jo, a girl who was expelled when Felicity was in the second form, returns as Alice. Alice is a kind and caring girl who saves another girl from a burning building. This changes the other girl's opinion of her forever.
Daffy Hope, a new first former, joins for the final book in the Malory Towers series, Goodbye Malory Towers. Daffy is Sally Hope's younger sister (from the first six books). This book follows Felicity through the good times and bad times of her last term at Malory Towers. Gwendoline Lacey also returns in this book.
