María Luisa "Malú" Trevejo, born on October 15, 2002, is a singer and social media star from Cuba and America. She became well-known for her fun videos on the app Musical.ly, which is now called TikTok. Malú also has many followers on Instagram, over 10 million! In September 2017, she released her first song, "Luna Llena." This song has been watched over 130 million times on YouTube. Soon after, she released another song called "En Mi Mente," which also got more than 10 million views.
Early Life and Her Start
María Luisa Trevejo was born in Havana, Cuba, on October 15, 2002. Her mother is Cuban, and her father is Spanish. When she was a baby, she moved to Madrid, Spain, with her mother. She lived there for 12 years.
While in Spain, Malú loved acting and making skit videos with her friends. Her parents would record these videos. She also started belly dancing when she was very young. She put videos of her dancing online, and this was how people first started to notice her. When she was 13, she moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother.
Soon after moving, Malú started an account on Musical.ly. This app is now known as TikTok. She quickly gained millions of followers by posting videos where she would lip-sync to songs. She became a verified user on the app. When Malú was 14, she signed a music deal with In-Tu Linea and Universal Music Latin. On September 22, 2017, she released her first song, "Luna Llena." This song became very popular, getting over 129 million views on YouTube.

On August 2, 2019, Malú Trevejo released a collection of four songs called Una Vez Más. Her song "Luna Llena" reached number 18 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. It stayed there for two weeks in a row. The song was also certified gold and platinum within a month, which means it sold a lot of copies.
In October 2020, Malú signed with new managers and moved to the Los Angeles area. In October 2021, she announced that she had signed with Travis Scott's record label, Cactus Jack Records, and Atlantic Records. Later that month, she released a new song called "Complicado" with Luar La L. This song was released under Cactus Jack and Atlantic. In November 2021, she left Cactus Jack Records.
