Manila's History
Manila was founded at the end of World War II. It was named after the city of Manila in the Philippines.
Friends of the Dunes Nature Center
The Humboldt Coastal Nature Center is located on Stamps Lane in Manila. This center is run by an organization called Friends of the Dunes. It includes the Stamps Dune House and the beautiful sand dunes around it. The house was built in 1985 as a retirement home. Later, in 2007, Friends of the Dunes bought the property. They turned it into a nature center to help people learn about the local dunes.
