Type Agricultural Museum

The Manitoba Agricultural Museum is a special place that collects old farm machines and buildings from the early 1900s and even before. It's located on a big piece of land, about 50 acres, near Austin, Manitoba, in Canada.

This museum has gathered over 500 pieces of old farm equipment. It also has a "pioneer village" with more than 20 old buildings. These buildings are filled with items from the past. This makes it Canada's largest collection of old farm equipment! The museum also has places for camping and picnics, plus a souvenir shop.

Throughout the year, the museum offers different tours and hands-on activities. The biggest event is the Annual Manitoba Threshermen's Reunion and Stampede. This exciting event happens near the end of July each year.

Discovering Farm History

The Threshermen's Reunion is a fantastic event. It shows off a huge collection of old steam and gas tractors. You can also see other equipment used on farms long ago.

Daily Parade of Power

Every afternoon during the reunion, there's a parade. You can watch about 12 steam engines and many "gas" tractors roll by. These machines were once very important for farming.

Sawmill and Steam Cooking

After the parade, you can explore the fairgrounds. You might see an old steam-powered sawmill. It cuts through logs to make planks, just like pioneers did for their buildings. At supper time, visit the Corn and Barley Corral. Here, a steam tractor helps cook corn!

Evening Fun and Rodeo

Every evening, there's a rodeo. You can watch cowboys and cowgirls show off their skills. After the rodeo, there's a free dance for everyone to enjoy.

Radio History Museum

The Manitoba Amateur Radio Museum is also located at the museum grounds. This museum collects and fixes old communication equipment. It even operates some of it!

Exploring Old Radios

This museum now has over 3,700 items on display. You can see how people communicated long ago. Their special operating names are VE4ARM and VE4MTR.
