Mansfeld-Südharz is a district located in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. It is in the central part of the country. The main city and capital of this district is Sangerhausen. This area is known for its interesting history and natural beauty.
How Mansfeld-Südharz Was Formed
The district of Mansfeld-Südharz is quite new. It was created in 2007. Before that, there were two separate districts. These were the old district of Sangerhausen and the district called Mansfelder Land. These two areas joined together to form the single, larger district we know today. This change was part of a bigger plan to update district borders in Saxony-Anhalt.
