Manuel Argüelles Argüelles was a Spanish politician and lawyer.

Manuel Argüelles Argüelles (born November 10, 1875, in Madrid – died 1945) was a Spanish politician and lawyer. He held important jobs as a government minister. He served as the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Public Works when Alfonso XIII was the king of Spain. Later, he was again the Minister of Finance during the time of Miguel Primo de Rivera's government.

Manuel Argüelles's Political Life

Manuel Argüelles started his career in the Liberal-Conservative Party. This was a major political group in Spain at the time. He became a member of the Congress of Deputies, which is like Spain's main parliament or lower house. He represented the province of Oviedo. He won elections for this position many times, from 1907 until 1923.

Key Roles as a Minister

Manuel Argüelles held several important positions in the Spanish government. He was the Minister of Finance twice. The first time was from March 13 to July 7, 1921, under the governments led by Eduardo Dato and Manuel Allendesalazar. He returned to this role later, from January 30 to August 20, 1930, when Dámaso Berenguer was in charge of the government.

He also served as the Minister of Public Works. This job involved overseeing big projects like roads, bridges, and other public buildings. He held this position from March 8 to December 4, 1922, as part of the government led by José Sánchez Guerra.
