Many Farms High School (MFHS) is a special kind of school called a boarding school. This means students live at the school while they study. It is run by the US Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Education. This group helps provide education for Native American students.
The school is located in Many Farms, Arizona. This area is in the middle of the Navajo reservation. It is about 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Canyon De Chelly National Monument. Many Farms High School first opened its doors in 1969. For the 2023–2024 school year, about 303 students attended MFHS. The school has separate living areas for boys and girls.
School Campus
Many Farms High School shares its location with another school. This is the Many Farms Community School. It used to be called Chinle Boarding School. This school teaches younger students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
Years ago, Diné College was also on the same school complex. Diné College is a college for higher education. Later, Diné College moved to a different town called Tsaile.
Sports and Clubs
The sports teams at Many Farms High School are called the "Lobos." This word means "wolves" in Spanish. The Lobos compete in many different sports. These include American football, cross-country running, and volleyball. They also play basketball, wrestle, and play baseball and softball. Track and field is another popular sport.
The school is part of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. This group organizes sports for high schools across Arizona. Besides sports, Many Farms High School also has various clubs. These clubs help students learn and have fun outside of regular classes.
