Marchigüe (pronounced mar-CHEE-gweh) is a small but important town and commune in Chile. It is sometimes spelled Marchihue. This area is located in the Cardenal Caro Province, which is part of Chile's sixth region, called O'Higgins.

Local Leadership
The commune is run by a municipal council. This council is led by an alcalde, who is similar to a mayor. The people of Marchigüe vote directly for their alcalde every four years. The alcalde for 2021-2024 is Héctor Cristian Salinas Herrera. He helps make decisions for the community.
