Marcus Landry (born November 1, 1985) is an American professional basketball player. He played as a small forward. Landry is known for his time playing in many different leagues around the world. He played for teams in the NBA, Spain, Italy, and South Korea.

Landry went to Harold S. Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Later, he played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin from 2005 to 2009.

High School Basketball

Marcus Landry played basketball at Harold S. Vincent High School. In his senior year, he was a top player. He scored about 16 points and grabbed almost 6 rebounds per game. He also shot very well, making 59% of his shots.

His strong play helped his team reach the state championship game. Because of his great performance, he was chosen as a first-team all-state player.

College Basketball Career

After high school, Landry played for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a very important player for his college team. He scored over 1,000 points during his time there. This made him one of the top scorers in the school's history.

He also grabbed over 500 rebounds, showing he was strong under the basket. Landry was known for blocking shots, ranking fifth in Wisconsin's history for blocks. He played in 105 games in a row and started the last 75 games of his career.

In 2008, Landry helped the Badgers win the 2008 Big Ten men's basketball tournament. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of that tournament. This award goes to the best player in the championship.

Professional Basketball Journey

After college, Marcus Landry started his professional career. He was not chosen in the 2009 NBA draft. However, the New York Knicks signed him in September 2009.

He later joined the Boston Celtics in February 2010. The Celtics sent him to their minor league team, the Maine Red Claws. This helped him get more playing time.

In 2010, Landry signed with the Sacramento Kings. He joined his brother, Carl, who also played for the Kings. He later played for the Reno Bighorns in the NBA D-League.

Landry also played basketball in other countries. He played in France and Spain. In 2011, he signed with Bàsquet Manresa in Spain. He also played for the Shanghai Sharks in China in 2012.

He returned to the Reno Bighorns in 2012. There, he showed off his shooting skills. He won the NBA D-League Three-Point Shootout in 2013. This means he was the best at shooting three-pointers in that league.

After playing for the Los Angeles Lakers in the Summer League, he moved to Spain again. He played for Cajasol Sevilla and CAI Zaragoza.

In 2015, Landry briefly joined the Milwaukee Bucks. He then went back to Spain to play for RETAbet.es GBC.

From 2016 to 2018, he played for Basket Brescia Leonessa in Italy. He had a fantastic season in 2016–17. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Italian league. He also led the league in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per game.

Later in his career, Landry played in the Korean Basketball League. He joined the Busan KT Sonicboom and then the Goyang Orions. In 2019, he was chosen as a KBL All-Star.

Family Life

Marcus Landry comes from a family of basketball players. His parents are Mark and Anita. His older brother, Carl Landry, also played in the NBA. Marcus also has a younger sister, Shenita Lasha, who plays professional basketball.

Marcus is married to Efueko. She also played college basketball at Marquette. They have three children together: a son named Marcus Jr., and two daughters named Mariah and Makaylah.
