Marcus Landry, born on November 1, 1985, is an American professional basketball player. He played for many teams, including the Goyang Orions in the Korean Basketball League. Landry went to Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin from 2005 to 2009.

High School Basketball Journey
Marcus Landry played basketball at Harold S. Vincent High School. In his final year, he was a star player. He scored about 16.1 points per game. He also grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game. Landry shot very well, making 59 percent of his shots. His strong play helped his team reach the Division I state championship game. Because of his great performance, he was chosen as a first-team all-state player.
College Career at Wisconsin
After high school, Landry played for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He became one of the best players in the school's history. He was the 33rd player to score over 1,000 points. By the end of his college career, he had 1,114 points. This placed him 25th on the school's all-time scoring list.
Landry was also great at rebounding. He had 185 offensive rebounds, which is eighth in Badgers history. He also blocked 99 shots, ranking fifth all-time for Wisconsin. He was one of only 18 players in school history with at least 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
He played in 105 games in a row and started the last 75 games. During his time in college, his team won 100 games. He scored 10 or more points in 45 games. Landry helped the Badgers win the 2008 Big Ten men's basketball tournament. He was even named the Big Ten tournament Most Outstanding Player for his amazing play.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Marcus Landry was not chosen in the 2009 NBA draft. However, the New York Knicks signed him in September 2009.
Playing in the NBA
On February 18, 2010, Landry was traded to the Boston Celtics. He was part of a trade that sent him and Nate Robinson to Boston. In return, the Knicks received Eddie House, Bill Walker, and J. R. Giddens. The Celtics later sent Landry to their minor league team, the Maine Red Claws, in March 2010.
In September 2010, Landry signed with the Sacramento Kings. This allowed him to play with his brother, Carl Landry. However, the Kings released him on October 15. He then joined the Reno Bighorns, which was the Kings' minor league team, for the 2010–11 season.
International and D-League Play
In July 2011, Landry signed a one-year deal to play in France with BCM Gravelines. He left that team soon after and signed a short contract with Bàsquet Manresa in Spain. On December 13, 2011, he signed with the Phoenix Suns. But he was released before the 2011–12 NBA season began.
In July 2012, Landry signed with the Shanghai Sharks in China. In November 2012, he returned to the NBA Development League with the Reno Bighorns. He took part in the 2013 D-League Showcase Three Point Shootout, finishing in second place.
On February 4, 2013, Landry was chosen for the Futures All-Star team for the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game. On February 16, he won the NBA Developmental League Three Point Shootout. Unfortunately, on March 12, he suffered a knee injury that ended his season.
After playing in the 2013 NBA Summer League, Landry signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in September 2013. However, he was released by the Lakers on October 25.
On December 16, 2013, Landry rejoined the Reno Bighorns. Just a few days later, on December 20, his contract was bought out after only one game. On the same day, he signed with Cajasol Sevilla in Spain.
On August 2, 2014, Landry signed with CAI Zaragoza in Spain's top league, the Liga ACB. During the 2014–15 season, he played 34 games for Zaragoza. He averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
On August 17, 2015, Landry signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. He played in four preseason games but was released on October 21, 2015. On December 20, he went back to the Liga ACB, playing for RETAbet.es GBC.
On August 3, 2016, Landry signed with Basket Brescia Leonessa in Italy for the 2016–17 season. He had an outstanding season and was named the Lega Basket Serie A MVP for 2016–17. He led the league in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per game.
His last team was the Goyang Orions, which he joined on September 19, 2019.
Marcus Landry's Family Life
Marcus Landry is the son of Mark and Anita Landry. He has an older brother named Carl Landry, who also played in the NBA. Marcus also has a younger sister, Shenita Lasha, who is a professional basketball player. Marcus is married to Efueko. She also played basketball at Marquette University. They have three children: a son named Marcus Jr., and two daughters, Mariah and Makaylah.
