Marcus Robinson is an artist who takes amazing photos and makes films. He focuses on how cities change and how buildings are made. He lives in New York City, in an area called TriBeCa in Lower Manhattan. Sometimes, he also works from his family home in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Marcus Robinson creates his art using many different tools. These include photography, making films, music, and even painting.

Exploring Marcus Robinson's Art Journey

After finishing his studies at University of Cambridge in 1982, Marcus Robinson moved to Paris, France. He started taking black and white photos of actors in his small apartment. Later, he showed his landscape photos in cafes and art galleries around Paris.

Capturing City Landscapes

People soon noticed his special way of photographing city scenes. In 1987, a company hired him to take pictures of big building projects in Paris. This was a turning point for his career.

Filming the London Eye

After his work in Paris, Marcus Robinson became a documentary filmmaker in London. He made a film called The Millennium Wheel. This film used a special technique called time-lapse. Time-lapse photography shows how things change slowly over a long time, but it looks fast in the film.

The documentary showed the building of the London Eye. This is a very tall observation wheel in Europe. The film was shown at the London Film Festival. It also aired on Channel 4 TV just before the year 2000 began.

Marcus Robinson has also added his unique time-lapse sequences and still photos to many other films. Some of these include:

Documenting the World Trade Center Rebuilding

One of Marcus Robinson's biggest and most recent projects was documenting the rebuilding of the World Trade Center towers. This included One World Trade Center, also known as 1 WTC. His studio was located on the 46th floor of World Trade Center Tower #3. This building is right next to 1 WTC. From his studio, he had amazing views of New York Harbor and Midtown Manhattan.

His work resulted in an hour-long film called Rebuilding the World Trade Center. This film was first shown on Channel 4 TV in the UK. It premiered on September 1, 2013.
