Marcus Anthony Slaughter (born March 18, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He is 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) tall. Marcus mostly played as a center on the court. He played college basketball for the San Diego State Aztecs.

Professional Basketball Journey
Marcus Slaughter started his professional basketball career in 2006. He was not chosen in the 2006 NBA draft, but he quickly signed with a team in Turkey called Pınar Karşıyaka.
Early Career Highlights
Marcus had a great first season in Turkey. He scored a lot of points and grabbed many rebounds. He was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2007 Turkish All-Star game. After that, he signed a contract with the Miami Heat in the United States. However, he was released from the team later that year.
He then played for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel. After leaving Israel, he moved to France to play for BCM Gravelines Dunkerque. In 2008, he played for Eisbären Bremerhaven in Germany. He then returned to France to play for SLUC Nancy.
In 2010, Marcus signed with CB Valladolid in Spain. At the end of the 2010–11 season, he won the "ACB Most Spectacular Player" award. This award recognized his exciting style of play.
Success with Real Madrid
In 2011, Marcus joined the German team Brose Baskets. He helped them win the German League and the German Cup in 2012. After this success, he moved back to Spain. He signed with Real Madrid, one of Europe's biggest basketball teams.
Marcus played for Real Madrid for several years. In the 2014–15 season, his team achieved something special. They won the EuroLeague, which is the top basketball competition in Europe. They also won the Spanish League championship that same season. Winning both of these, plus another cup, is called the "triple crown" in European basketball. It was a huge achievement for Marcus and his team.
Later Career Teams
After his time with Real Madrid, Marcus joined the Turkish team Darüşşafaka Doğuş in 2015. He played there for two seasons.
In 2017, he moved to Italy to play for Virtus Bologna. Later, in 2019, he signed with AEK Athens in Greece. He continued to play for AEK Athens until 2021, when he finished his professional career.
