María José Uribe Durán (known as Mariajo Uribe) is a professional golfer from Colombia. She was born on February 27, 1990. Mariajo played on the LPGA Tour, which is one of the top golf tours for women in the world. She recently retired from playing golf professionally in 2024.

Mariajo Uribe's Early Golf Days

Mariajo Uribe was born in Girón, a town in Colombia. She started playing golf at a young age. When she was 17, she achieved a big win in 2007. She won the U.S. Women's Amateur. This is a very important golf tournament for amateur players. She was the only player from Latin America to ever win this championship.

In 2008, Mariajo continued to show her talent. She finished in the top 10 at the 2008 U.S. Women's Open. This was a major professional tournament, and she was the best amateur player there. She also won the Mexican International Amateur that same year.

Mariajo went to college at UCLA in the United States. She played golf for the UCLA Bruins team. She was recognized as one of the best college golfers in 2008 and 2009.

In 2024, Mariajo Uribe won the Women's NSW Open. This was a professional tournament co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the WPGA Tour of Australasia. She won by one stroke with a score of 14 strokes under par.

Mariajo Uribe played her last professional season in 2024 before retiring from the sport.
