Maria Angeles Beitialarrangoitia Lizarralde (born on January 20, 1968) is a journalist and politician from the Basque Country in Spain. She has held important roles in government. She was a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain and the Basque Parliament. She also served as the mayor of Hernani, a town in the Basque Country.

Early Life and Education
Marian Beitialarrangoitia was born in Legazpia, a town in the Basque Country, Spain. This was on January 20, 1968. She went to the University of the Basque Country. There, she studied and earned a degree in journalism.
A Career in Media and Politics
Starting in Journalism
Before becoming a politician, Marian Beitialarrangoitia worked as a journalist. In her younger years, she worked for a magazine called Hots. She also worked at a radio station named Hoska. Later, she joined Egin Irratia, which was a radio station connected to the Egin newspaper. She moved to Hernani, where the radio station and newspaper were based.
In 1998, the Egin newspaper and Egin Irratia radio station were closed down. After this, Beitialarrangoitia became involved with groups that supported prisoners.
Moving into Public Service
After her time at Egin Irratia, Beitialarrangoitia worked for EITB. This is the public broadcasting company in the Basque Country. She was an announcer on a morning radio show for Euskadi Irratia.
In 2007, she decided to run for local elections in Hernani. She was a candidate for the Basque Nationalist Action party. She won the election and became the mayor of Hernani. She served as mayor from 2007 to 2011.
Serving in Parliament
Marian Beitialarrangoitia played a key role in forming new political groups. These groups were called Amaiur and Bildu. She did not run for mayor again in the 2011 local elections. Instead, she worked for the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council as a communication director from 2011 to 2012.
She is a member of the Sortu political party. In January 2017, she was chosen to be part of the party's national council.
In 2012, she ran for the regional election in the Province of Gipuzkoa. She was a candidate for the EH Bildu political group. She was elected to the Basque Parliament.
Later, in 2015, she ran for the general election in Spain. She was an EH Bildu candidate for the Province of Gipuzkoa. She was elected to the Congress of Deputies of Spain. She was re-elected to this position in the 2016 general election. Her term in the Congress of Deputies ended in May 2019.
