Maria Angeles Beitialarrangoitia Lizarralde (born 20 January 1968) is a Basque journalist and politician. She has held important roles in government. She was a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain and the Basque Parliament. She also served as the mayor of Hernani.

Early Life and Education
Marian Beitialarrangoitia was born on January 20, 1968. Her birthplace is Legazpia, located in the Basque Country, Spain. She studied journalism at the University of the Basque Country. This education helped her start her career in media.
Career in Journalism
Beitialarrangoitia began her career working for Hots magazine. She also worked at the Hoska radio station when she was young. Later, she joined Egin Irratia radio station. This station was part of the Egin newspaper group. She moved to Hernani, where the radio station and newspaper were based.
In July 1998, a court ordered the closure of both media outlets. After this, Beitialarrangoitia became involved with groups like Gestoras pro Amnistía. These groups worked to support the rights of prisoners.
She then started working for EITB, which is the Basque public broadcaster. She was an announcer on a morning show for the Euskadi Irratia radio station.
Political Career
Mayor of Hernani
In 2007, Marian Beitialarrangoitia decided to enter politics. She ran in the local elections in Hernani. She was a candidate for the Basque Nationalist Action party. She won the election and became the mayor of Hernani. She served as mayor from 2007 to 2011.
In 2008, the Basque Nationalist Action party was banned. However, this ban did not apply to her past election. So, Beitialarrangoitia was able to continue her role as mayor. She played a key part in forming new political groups. These included the Amaiur and Bildu electoral alliances. She did not seek re-election in the 2011 local elections. From 2011 to 2012, she worked as the communication director for the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.
Member of Parliament
Beitialarrangoitia is a member of the Sortu political party. In January 2017, she was chosen to be part of the party's national council.
In 2012, she ran in the regional election. She was a candidate for the EH Bildu alliance in the Province of Gipuzkoa. She was elected to the Basque Parliament.
She then ran in the 2015 general election. She was an EH Bildu candidate for the Province of Gipuzkoa. She was elected to the Congress of Deputies of Spain. She was re-elected in the 2016 general election.
