Becoming an Artist

Marilyn Kirsch studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. She earned her Master of Fine Arts degree there in 1976. After finishing her studies, she started to show her artwork in different places.

Early Exhibitions in Boston

While she was in Boston, Marilyn Kirsch displayed her art at the Nielsen Gallery. This was part of a show called "Contemporary Drawings for the Young Collector." Her photo-collages, which are pictures made from many photos, were also shown. A series called "Imaginary Travel" was featured in Tufts Magazine in 2012.

Moving to New York City

In 1976, Kirsch moved to New York City. This is a big city known for its art scene. She continued to show her work in group exhibitions there. Her drawings were also chosen for a special show in California. This show was at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
