Marina Victoria Alexandra Ogilvy (born on July 31, 1966) is a member of the British royal family. She is the only daughter of Sir Angus Ogilvy and Princess Alexandra of Kent. Her mother, Princess Alexandra, was a first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II. Both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Alexandra were granddaughters of King George V. This makes Marina a second cousin to King Charles III. As of January 2025, she is 62nd in the line of succession to the British throne.
Marina Ogilvy's Early Life
Marina was born at Thatched House Lodge in Richmond Park, London. This was her parents' home. She was given the name Marina after her grandmother, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark. Her grandmother was also a first cousin to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Marina has an older brother named James Ogilvy, who was born in 1964. She was baptised on September 2, 1966, at the Private Chapel at Kensington Palace. The ceremony was led by Arthur Michael Ramsey, who was the Archbishop of Canterbury at the time.
Marina Ogilvy's Family Life
In November 1989, Marina announced that she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Paul Julian Mowatt. Paul was a freelance photographer. Marina and Paul Julian Mowatt were married on February 2, 1990. The wedding took place in Richmond Park, Surrey. Marina wore a red velvet jacket with gold trim, a black dress, and a black hat. Her parents and brother attended the wedding.
Marina and Paul have two children. Their daughter, Zenouska May Mowatt, was born in London on May 26, 1990. Their son, Christian Alexander Mowatt, was born in London on June 4, 1993. Zenouska works as the Head of Marketing at Katharine Pooley. Marina and Paul divorced on October 15, 1997.
