Marisa Glave Remy, born on May 16, 1981, is a Peruvian politician and sociologist. She worked as a member of the Peruvian Congress from 2016 to 2019. Before that, she was a City Councilwoman in Lima. She also helped start a political group called Earth and Freedom, which is now known as Broad Front. Many people see Marisa Glave as an important leader in Peru's left-wing politics.

Growing Up and Education
Marisa Glave was born in Lima, Peru. She went to the Colegio Sagrados Corazones Recoleta for her primary and secondary school studies.
She earned a degree in social sciences with a focus on sociology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Later, she studied for her master's degree in public policy management. This means she learned how to plan and manage government programs. She worked on research projects about how communities develop, how political groups work, and how people can get involved in their government.
Starting in Politics
Marisa Glave began her political journey early. In 2004, she became a council member for the city of Lima. She represented the Peruvian Nationalist Party.
From 2010, she was a leader for the Earth and Freedom Movement. She continued as a council member for Lima. She was part of a group of political parties working together. During her time as a council member, she led the Urban Development Commission. This group worked on plans for how the city of Lima should grow and change.
The Recall Election
In March 2013, there was a special vote called a "recall referendum." This vote was to decide if the mayor of Lima, Susana Villarán, should keep her job. Marisa Glave was a main speaker for the "No" campaign. This campaign wanted the mayor to stay in office.
The mayor was able to keep her position after the vote. However, Marisa Glave and 21 other council members lost their jobs because of the rules of this special election.
Becoming a Congress Member
In the 2016 general elections, Marisa Glave ran for a seat in the Peruvian Congress. She was part of the Broad Front political group.
She won her election with many votes from the Lima area. This allowed her to become a member of the Peruvian Congress. She served in this important role from 2016 to 2019.
