Mark Andrew Consuelos (born March 30, 1971) is an American actor and TV host. He became well-known for playing Mateo Santos on the TV show All My Children from 1995 to 2002. Later, he played Hiram Lodge on Riverdale from 2017 to 2023. Mark Consuelos now co-hosts the daytime talk show Live with Kelly and Mark with his wife, Kelly Ripa.

Early Life and Education
Mark Consuelos was born in Zaragoza, Spain. His mother, Camilla, is Italian, and his father, Saul Consuelos, is Mexican. Mark is the youngest of three children. He has an older brother who is a doctor and an older sister who is a lawyer.
Mark grew up in both Italy and the United States. In the U.S., he lived in Lebanon, Illinois, and later in Brandon, Florida. He went to Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico, Florida. After high school, he attended the University of Notre Dame before moving to the University of South Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1994 with a degree in marketing.
Mark Consuelos' Acting Career
Mark Consuelos started his acting career in the early 1990s. He had a role in an educational TV series called Connect With English. Before becoming a full-time actor, he was also a dancer with a group called the Suncoast Calendar Men.
Becoming a Soap Opera Star
In February 1995, Mark got a big role on the soap opera All My Children. He played the character Mateo Santos. On the show, he met his future wife, Kelly Ripa, who played his on-screen girlfriend. They fell in love and secretly got married in Las Vegas in May 1996. Mark and Kelly continued to work on All My Children until 2002.
From Guest Host to Main Host
After leaving All My Children, Kelly Ripa became a host on the talk show Live! with Regis and Kelly. Mark Consuelos often appeared as a guest host on the show. Over the years, the show changed names several times. On April 17, 2023, Mark officially became the regular co-host, and the show was renamed Live! with Kelly and Mark.

Mark Consuelos has appeared in many movies and TV shows. Some of his films include The Great Raid (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), and Wedding Daze (2006). He also appeared in Cop Out (2010) and Nine Lives (2016). He is currently filming for Scream 7, which is expected to be released in 2026.

Playing Hiram Lodge on Riverdale
In 2017, Mark Consuelos joined the cast of Riverdale, a popular drama series on The CW. He played the character of Hiram Lodge. Interestingly, his oldest son, Michael Consuelos, also played a younger version of Hiram Lodge in some episodes. Mark was a main cast member for four seasons, leaving the show after the fifth season finale in 2021. He later returned for guest appearances in seasons six and seven.
Mark Consuelos' Personal Life
Mark Consuelos met Kelly Ripa in 1995 when they were co-stars on All My Children. They got married on May 1, 1996. Mark and Kelly have three children:

In 2008, Mark performed the wedding ceremony for radio host Howard Stern and model Beth Ostrosky. Mark became ordained to make the ceremony official for his friends.
For many years, Mark and Kelly lived in an apartment in New York City. In 2015, they sold that apartment and moved into a townhouse on East 76th Street, which they had bought in 2013.

Mark Consuelos has won several awards for his acting.
- In 1998 and 1999, he won the American Latino Media Arts Award for "Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Soap Opera" for his role in All My Children.
- He also won the "Hottest Romance" award with Kelly Ripa at the Soap Opera Awards in 1997.
