Mark Andrew Consuelos (born March 30, 1971) is an American actor and TV show host. He became well-known for his role as Mateo Santos on the TV show All My Children from 1995 to 2002. Later, he played Hiram Lodge on the drama series Riverdale from 2017 to 2023. Today, Mark Consuelos co-hosts the daytime talk show Live with Kelly and Mark with his wife, Kelly Ripa.

Early Life and School
Mark Consuelos was born in Zaragoza, Spain. His mother, Camilla, is Italian, and his father, Saul Consuelos, is Mexican. He is the youngest of three children. He has an older brother who is a doctor and an older sister who is a lawyer.
Mark grew up in both Italy and the United States. He lived in Lebanon, Illinois, and later in Brandon, Florida. He went to Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico, Florida. After high school, he studied at the University of Notre Dame. He then transferred to the University of South Florida, where he earned a degree in marketing in 1994.
Acting Career
Before becoming a famous actor, Mark Consuelos was a dancer in Florida in the early 1990s. He left dancing in 1995 when he got his big acting break.
Becoming a Soap Opera Star
In February 1995, Mark Consuelos got the part of Mateo Santos on the TV show All My Children. This show is a "soap opera," which means it's a TV drama with many ongoing stories. On the show, he met his co-star Kelly Ripa, who played his character's girlfriend. They fell in love in real life and secretly got married in Las Vegas in May 1996.
Mark and Kelly continued to work on All My Children until 2002. Kelly wanted to focus on her new job as a host for the talk show Live!. Mark often appeared as a guest host on the show. On April 17, 2023, Mark became the regular co-host, and the show was renamed Live! with Kelly and Mark.
Other TV Shows and Movies
After leaving All My Children, Mark Consuelos acted in several movies. These include The Great Raid (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), and Wedding Daze (2006). He also appeared in the TV series Missing and Ugly Betty.
Mark hosted two reality dating shows on NBC in 2007: Age of Love and Science of Love. He also made guest appearances on popular shows like Third Watch, Friends, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
In 2012, Mark played a recurring character named Spivey in American Horror Story: Asylum. This is a horror TV series where each season tells a different scary story. In 2013, he co-starred as Florida Senator Andy Guzman in Alpha House. This was a political comedy show on Amazon.
In 2017, Mark Consuelos joined the cast of Riverdale as Hiram Lodge. His real-life son, Michael Consuelos, played a younger version of Hiram Lodge in some episodes. Mark left Riverdale after four seasons as a main character.
Personal Life
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa met in 1995 while working on All My Children. They got married on May 1, 1996. They have three children together: Michael Joseph (born 1997), Lola Grace (born 2001), and Joaquin Antonio (born 2003).
For many years, Mark and Kelly lived in an apartment in New York City. In 2015, they moved to a townhouse on East 76th Street.

Mark Consuelos has won several awards for his acting.
- In 1998 and 1999, he won the American Latino Media Arts Award for "Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Soap Opera."
