Mark Strickland (born July 14, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He also worked as a coach. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1995 to 2002. Later, he coached the Oshawa Power team in Canada.
Mark is 6 feet 9 inches tall and played as a forward. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied at Temple University where he also played college basketball. He majored in sports management.
Playing Career
Mark Strickland played for many teams during his career. Besides the NBA, he also played in other leagues. These included the CBA and the USBL.
NBA Teams
Mark played for several well-known NBA teams. He was with the Miami Heat from 1996 to 1999. He also played for the Denver Nuggets in 2000. Later, he joined the New Jersey Nets in 2000. In 2001, he played for the Atlanta Hawks. His last NBA team was the Dallas Mavericks in 2002.
International and Other Leagues
Mark also played basketball in other countries. He played in the Netherlands for EBBC Den Bosch. He also played in Puerto Rico for Atléticos de San Germán. Later, he played in France for Strasbourg IG. He also played in China for Zhejiang Wanma Cyclones. From 2003 to 2005, he played in Lebanon for Jamhour Blue Stars.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Mark Strickland became a coach. He was the head coach for the Oshawa Power. This team is part of the National Basketball League of Canada.
