For the 2011–12 season, Sloga was promoted to the Serbian First League. Marko scored three goals in 31 league matches that season. He mostly played as a central midfielder. However, he also played as a right-back in some games. In one match, he even played as a center-back after a teammate was substituted. He scored a goal in that same game. Later, he scored two more goals against other teams.
During the 2012–13 season, Marko continued as a central midfielder. But his coach, Neško Milovanović, moved him to right-back later in the season. He played in 32 Serbian First League games and one Serbian Cup game. Even though he didn't score, he was named man of the match once.
In the next season, Marko became the team's vice-captain. On September 25, 2013, he scored a goal in a Serbian Cup match against Vojvodina. The game went into extra time after a 1–1 tie. Marko also scored in the penalty shootout, but Sloga was eliminated. As captain, he was again named man of the match. Around this time, he started playing more often as a utility player, meaning he could play in many different positions. He mostly played as a right-back during this season.

After Napredak was moved to the Serbian First League, Marko played in all matches until the middle of the season. He started as a right-back. But after another player joined, he moved back to the midfield. He played in both positions during the season. He scored a goal in a match on March 19, 2016. After Napredak won the 2016 Serbian First League, Marko was chosen for the team of the season.
