Marquem Nuguen Gonçalves Ferreira (born on November 30, 1983), known simply as Marquem, is a Brazilian footballer. He plays as a defender.
Marquem started his football journey in Brazil. He trained at the famous São Paulo youth academy. This is where many talented young players learn to play professional football.

Playing Career
Marquem began his career at the São Paulo youth academy in Brazil. He was a promising young player.
Early Career in Japan and Brazil
When he was 20 years old, Marquem moved to Japan. He joined a team called Vegalta Sendai. However, he didn't play much there. He often sat on the bench. After just one year, he returned to Brazil. He then joined the B team of Esporte Clube Juventude.
Marquem continued to play for different clubs in Brazil. These were often in the lower divisions of Brazilian football. Some of these clubs included Esporte Clube Noroeste, Clube 15 de Novembro, and Anápolis Futebol Clube.
Time in Mozambique
In 2008, Marquem also played for a short time in Mozambique. He joined a club called Liga Muçulmana de Maputo. This was a new experience for him, playing football in a different country.
Move to Malaysia
After playing in Brazil for eight years, Marquem decided to try playing abroad again. In 2011, he moved to Malaysia. He joined the club Negeri Sembilan FA. He joined along with another player, Jean-Emmanuel Effa Owona. Marquem had impressed the coach, Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah.
However, Marquem faced a challenge in Malaysia. He could not be officially registered to play in the league. This was because he did not meet all the rules set by the Football Association of Malaysia.
International Football
Marquem also had a chance to play for his country. In 2000, he played for the Brazil national under-19 football team. This happened after he had a very good season with the São Paulo youth academy. Playing for a national team is a big honor for any footballer.
