In 2023, Marquis won first place in the long jump at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. He also took home a gold medal in the long jump at the 2016 USA Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon.
He earned silver medals in the long jump at the 2022 USA Indoor Championships and the 2021 US Olympic Trials. In 2017, he also won a silver medal at the USA Outdoor Championships.

Marquis Dendy's High School Days
Marquis Dendy went to Middletown High School in Delaware. While there, he set new state records for both the long jump and the triple jump. His long jump record was 25 feet 3.5 inches, and his triple jump record was 52 feet 7 inches.
After high school, he quickly started competing internationally. He won a gold medal in the long jump at the 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships. Even earlier, at just 17 years old, he competed in the 2010 World Junior Championships, finishing eighth in the triple jump.
About Marquis Dendy's Family
Marquis grew up in a family that loved sports. His father was a sprinter in high school, and his mother, Dionne, was also a sprinter in college. His aunt, Terri Dendy, was a successful athlete too. She won a medal in a sprint relay at the 1993 World Championships.
In 2014, Marquis was recognized for his athletic achievements. He shared the award for Delaware's Outstanding Athlete of the Year from the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association.
