The Marriott World Trade Center was a large hotel in New York City. It had 22 floors and 825 rooms. The hotel was part of the original World Trade Center complex in Manhattan.
It first opened in July 1981 as the Vista International Hotel. This hotel was the first new hotel to open in Lower Manhattan since 1836. The building was designed by a famous architecture firm called Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
The Marriott World Trade Center was sadly destroyed on September 11, 2001. This happened during the terrorist attacks when the nearby Twin Towers collapsed. The hotel was not rebuilt as part of the new World Trade Center complex. However, its name is now shared with a new office tower in the area.
