A Look Back in Time
Marseilles got its name from a famous city in France called Marseille.
A sad event happened near Marseilles on March 5, 1967. A plane called Lake Central Flight 527 was flying from Columbus to Toledo. Sadly, it crashed in a field close to the village. The plane's propeller broke off, causing the crash. All 38 people on board, including passengers and crew, died in the accident.
