Martell T. Webb (born November 10, 1989) is a former American football player. He played as a tight end. Martell played his college football for the Michigan Wolverines football team.
Before college, he was a highly-rated tight end and wide receiver at Pontiac Northern High School. He was even chosen for the 2006 USA Today All-USA second-team. After college, he was part of several NFL teams. These included the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, and Cleveland Browns.
High School Football Journey
Martell Webb was a very talented player in high school. Experts thought he was one of the best tight ends in the country. He was also seen as a strong wide receiver.
In 2006, he was recognized for his skills. He was named to the USA Today All-USA second-team. This was a big honor for a high school player.
College Football Career
Martell played college football for the Michigan Wolverines football team. He was a tight end for them. During his time at Michigan, he caught 9 passes for 111 yards. He also scored 2 touchdowns.
He also helped out on special teams, making 3 tackles. Martell started three games during his college career. One memorable moment was his touchdown against Michigan State in 2010. This score gave Michigan the lead in that game.
Playing in the NFL
After college, Martell Webb began his professional football career. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. He caught one pass in a preseason game for them.
Later that year, he joined the New York Jets. He also spent some time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad. In 2012, he signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
Martell then joined the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. He also played for the Tennessee Titans. In 2013, he was briefly with the Detroit Lions. He returned to the Indianapolis Colts later that year. His last NFL team was the Cleveland Browns in 2014.
