Martin is located in the northern part of Keith County. It sits right on the north side of Lake McConaughy. This lake is a large body of water formed by the North Platte River, and Martin is just north of Kingsley Dam, which controls the lake's water.

The community is at a crossroads where two main roads meet: Nebraska Highway 61 and Nebraska Highway 92.

  • Highway 92 goes west along the north side of Lake McConaughy for about 25 miles, leading to Lewellen, Nebraska.
