The Story of Martin Luther

The movie starts in the year 1505. We see Martin Luther joining a monastery in Erfurt. A monastery is a place where monks live and pray. Luther was very worried about how to please God.

One day, he found a new understanding of God's kindness in the New Testament part of the Bible. This new idea changed his life. Later, he shared his ideas by writing the Ninety-Five Theses. These were 95 statements that questioned some church practices.

In the year 1521, the pope (the leader of the Catholic Church) wanted Luther to take back his words. This happened at a big meeting called the Diet of Worms. But Luther refused to change his mind. He famously said, "Here I Stand."

The movie ends with the presentation of the Augsburg Confession. This was an important document that explained the beliefs of the new Protestant movement.
