Martin Pakledinaz (born September 1, 1953 – died July 8, 2012) was a very talented American costume designer. He created amazing outfits for plays, musicals, and movies. His work helped bring characters to life on stage and screen.
He won several important awards for his designs. These included two Tony Awards, which are like the Oscars for theater. He also won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Costume Design.

Martin Pakledinaz won his first Tony Award for the musical Kiss Me, Kate in 2000. He also earned a Drama Desk Award for this show. His second Tony Award was for Thoroughly Modern Millie. These awards show how much his work was admired.
Designing for Broadway
Pakledinaz designed costumes for many Broadway shows. Broadway is the biggest stage for plays and musicals in New York City. Some of his recent works included Nice Work If You Can Get It (2012). He passed away on July 8, 2012, at the age of 58. He had been battling brain cancer. Soon after his death, he was honored by being added to the American Theater Hall of Fame. This special honor celebrates people who have made a huge impact on American theater.
