Martina Dalić (born November 12, 1967) is a Croatian economist and politician. She served as a Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia. She was also the Minister of Economy, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship and Crafts. These roles were part of the government led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Before these roles, she was Croatia's Minister of Finance. She held this position from 2010 to 2011. Martina Dalić was the first woman to be the Minister of Economy in Croatia. She was also the first and only woman to be the Minister of Finance. She is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) political party.

Early Life and Education
Martina Dalić was born Martina Štimec in Velika Gorica, Croatia. Her family came from different parts of Croatia.
She attended the University of Zagreb. In 1990, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business. This means she studied how countries and businesses manage money and resources.
Her Career Journey
Martina Dalić started her career in government in 1995. She worked at the Croatian finance ministry. Her job was to lead the department that predicted how the country's economy would grow.
In 1997, she became an assistant minister. This was an important step in her career.
Working in the Private Sector
In 2000, Martina Dalić left her government job. She started working for a bank called Privredna banka Zagreb. There, she became the chief economist. This role meant she advised the bank on economic matters.
Return to Government
Martina Dalić returned to government work in 2004. She joined the Central State Strategy Office. This office helps plan for Croatia's future.
She also became a chief negotiator for Croatia. She helped Croatia join the European Union. Her role was to work on financial laws and rules.
Leaving the Political Party
In 2014, Martina Dalić left the HDZ political party. She felt that the party's plans were not strong enough. She believed they did not have a clear way to help Croatia's economy.
She wrote that Croatia needed a government ready to solve problems. She felt the party was not focused enough on real economic issues.
Resigning as Minister
In May 2018, Martina Dalić resigned from her role as a minister. She left the government led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Other Activities
Martina Dalić has also been involved with international organizations.
- She was an official member of the Board of Governors for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This was from 2010 to 2011. The EBRD helps countries in Europe and Asia grow their economies.
