Marty was once a small community or "settlement" located in Yolo County, California. When we say "former settlement," it means it's a place that used to have people living there, but it no longer exists as a populated area today.
Marty was situated about 10.5 miles (which is about 16.9 kilometers) northeast of a city called Davis. It was built along the Sacramento and Woodland Railroad, which was an important railway line back then. The land where Marty was located is about 33 feet (or 10 meters) above sea level. This small place could still be found on maps as late as 1915, but after that, it faded away.
