Early Life and Journalism
Martín Caparrós's father, Antonio Caparrós, was a well-known psychiatrist. Martín started his writing career very early, at just sixteen years old. His first job was at a newspaper called Noticias.
Over the years, he has written for many famous international newspapers, including The New York Times, The Guardian, and El País.
Moving to France
In 1976, the military took control of the government in Argentina. This event is known as the 1976 Argentine coup d'état. The country was then ruled by a dictatorship until 1983, a time when people's freedoms were limited. Because of this dangerous situation, Caparrós left Argentina and moved to France.
While living in Paris, he studied at the University of Paris and earned a degree in History. Today, he lives in Madrid, Spain.
