The Story of Marys Home

Marys Home began to grow in the 1880s. It developed around the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. The church and the community were both named after the Virgin Mary.

A post office was opened in Marys Home in 1884. It served the community for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1918.

In 2005, an important building from the community's past was recognized. The P.A. Sanning Store was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's a special place that is important to the history of the area.
