About Mary Fox
Mary Fox was born in 1922 in a town called Atherstone in Warwickshire, England. She loved art and went to art school. First, she studied at the Leicester School of Art in 1939. Later, she went to the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London.
Her Art Style
Mary Fox was inspired by many artists. Some of these artists were from Poland and Germany. They had moved to Britain before World War II. Their unique styles helped shape Mary Fox's own artwork.
Exhibitions and Shows
Mary Fox's art was shown in many places. She often displayed her work in group shows at the Royal Academy in London. She also showed her art with the New English Art Club and the Women's International Art Club.
During the 1960s, Mary Fox had three special shows just for her art. These were held at the John Whibley Gallery in London. Later, she had more solo shows. One was at the Sue Rankin Gallery in 1986. Another series of shows started in 1993 at the Stables in Birmingham.
