Marydel is a small town located in Caroline County, Maryland, in the United States. Its name, Marydel, is a "portmanteau" word. This means it combines parts of two other words: Maryland and Delaware. This is because the town is located very close to the border between these two states. Marydel was officially recognized as an incorporated town in 1929. Before that, it was known as Halltown.
