Masahiro Wada (和田 昌裕, Wada Masahiro, born January 21, 1965) is a Japanese former football player and manager. He was born in Kobe, Japan. His sons, Atsuki Wada and Tomoki Wada, also became football players.

Playing Career
Masahiro Wada started his football journey in Kobe. After finishing university, he joined a team called Matsushita Electric in 1987. This team later became known as Gamba Osaka.
He quickly became a regular player. He often played as a left-sided defender or midfielder. In 1990, his team won the Emperor's Cup. This was a big achievement for the club.
After 1994, he played less often for Gamba Osaka. In 1995, he moved to Vissel Kobe, a team from his hometown. He played regularly there and helped them get promoted to the top league, the J1 League, in 1997. He retired from playing football at the end of the 1998 season.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Masahiro Wada became a coach. He worked with several teams, showing his skills as a leader.
Coaching at Vissel Kobe
Wada stayed with Vissel Kobe as part of their coaching staff. In 2009, he became the temporary head coach. He managed the team for five games in the J1 League. Later, he returned to being an assistant coach.
In 2010, he was again promoted to head coach. He led Vissel Kobe to their highest finish ever in the J1 League, placing ninth. However, in 2012, he was let go after a tough start to the season. He continued to work for Vissel Kobe in an executive role until 2013.
Success with Chonburi
In 2014, Masahiro Wada moved to Thailand. He became the first foreign head coach for Chonburi F.C. in the Thai Premier League. He was invited by his former teammate, Wittaya Laohakul.
Wada had a very successful season in Thailand. His team finished second in the league and was runner-up in the Thai FA Cup. He even won the "TPL Coach of the Year" award. Despite his success, he decided to return to Japan.
Return to Japan
In December 2014, Wada went back to Japan. He became the manager of Kyoto Sanga FC in the J2 League. However, he stepped down in July 2015. This happened after the team dropped into the relegation zone.
Second Time in Thailand
On October 22, 2015, Port F.C. in Thailand hired Masahiro Wada. He was brought in to help the team avoid relegation in the Thai Premier League. He made a good effort, but the team was still relegated.
He continued as head coach for Port F.C. in the lower division. However, he was sacked on July 11, 2016. At that time, the team was in third place, close to the top spot.
