Masaki Chugo (中後 雅喜, Chūgo Masaki, born May 16, 1982) is a Japanese football manager and a former professional player. He was born in Chiba, Japan. Masaki Chugo played as a midfielder during his career. He is now the manager of the Kashima Antlers football club.
Playing Career
Masaki Chugo started his professional football journey in 2005. He played for several well-known Japanese clubs.
His first team was Kashima Antlers, where he played from 2005 to 2008. After that, he joined JEF United Chiba for two seasons, from 2009 to 2010. In 2011, he played for Cerezo Osaka.
Masaki Chugo spent the longest part of his playing career with Tokyo Verdy. He was with them from 2012 until 2017. Throughout his career, he played in over 260 games and scored 15 goals.
Achievements as a Player
During his time as a player, Masaki Chugo helped his teams win some big titles:

Managerial Career
Masaki Chugo began his career as a football manager in 2024. On October 9, 2024, he was announced as the new manager of Kashima Antlers. This is the same club where he started his professional playing career!
