Masashi Miyazawa's Football Journey
Masashi Miyazawa was born in Kofu, Japan, on April 24, 1978. After finishing university, he began his professional football career in 2001. He joined FC Tokyo, a team in Japan's top league, the J1 League.
Early Career at FC Tokyo
When he first joined FC Tokyo, Masashi didn't play much in his first year. But in 2002, he became a regular player. He played as a defensive midfielder, helping to protect his team's goal. However, from 2004, he started to play less often. Other players, like Yasuyuki Konno and Yohei Kajiyama, took his spot in the team.
Moving to Oita Trinita
In 2007, Masashi moved to another J1 League team, Oita Trinita. He still found it hard to get a lot of playing time there. In 2008, he went on loan to Vegalta Sendai, a team in the J2 League (Japan's second division). But even there, he didn't play many games.
Return and Captaincy
Masashi returned to Oita Trinita in 2009. The team was relegated to the J2 League at the end of that year. Because of money problems, Oita Trinita had to let many of their regular players go. This gave Masashi a chance to play more. From 2010, he became a regular player for the team. He even became the team's captain in 2011! His leadership helped Oita Trinita get promoted back to the J1 League in 2013.
Final Years at FC Gifu
In 2014, Masashi moved to FC Gifu, another J2 League team. He played many games as a regular player in his first year there. However, in 2015, he started to play less often. Masashi Miyazawa decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2015 season.
