Mason Gooding was born on November 14, 1996. He is an American actor. His father is the famous actor Cuba Gooding Jr.. Mason has appeared in many TV shows and movies.
He had a regular role in the TV series Ballers in 2018. He also starred in the teen drama series Love, Victor from 2020 to 2022. You might have seen him in movies like Booksmart (2019) and Fall (2022). He is also known for playing Chad Meeks-Martin in the horror films Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). Most recently, he starred in Heart Eyes (2025).

About Mason Gooding's Life
Mason Gooding was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents are Sara Kapfer and Cuba Gooding Jr.. He is the middle child of three. His grandfather, Cuba Gooding Sr., was the lead singer of a band called The Main Ingredient. His uncle, Omar Gooding, is also an actor.
Mason went to Windward High School in California. He played football there for four years and graduated in 2015. In high school, he loved both football and theater.
After high school, he wanted to start acting right away. But he decided to go to college first. He visited his dad on a movie set in New York and then chose to study at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He studied dramatic writing and psychology. He later left college during his third year to become a full-time actor.
Mason Gooding's Acting Career
In 2017, while still in college, Mason found a manager and an agent. This helped him start getting acting jobs. He worked as a production assistant and an extra on a web series called Spring Street.
His first big acting role was in the HBO show Ballers. He acted alongside Dwayne Johnson in this dramedy series. In 2018, Mason got his first major movie role in Booksmart. This film was the first one directed by Olivia Wilde.
In 2019, Mason was cast as Andrew in Love, Victor. This TV show is a spin-off of the 2018 movie Love, Simon. The series first appeared on Hulu in 2020. Even though Mason played football in high school, he had to learn how to play basketball for his role in Love, Victor. Later that year, he also appeared in the Netflix Christmas romantic comedy Let It Snow.
In 2020, he also started appearing in the Freeform sitcom Everything's Gonna Be Okay. In September 2020, Mason was chosen to play Chad Meeks-Martin in the fifth Scream movie. This film was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The movie's release was delayed because of the Covid 19 pandemic, but it came out on January 14, 2022.
In August 2021, Mason co-starred in a podcast called Electric Easy. It was a musical science fiction show set in a future Los Angeles. He acted alongside singers Kesha and Chloe Bailey. The story was about humans and robots trying to live together. Mason played Chad Meeks-Martin again in the movie Scream VI, which was released on March 10, 2023. He is also set to play the role again in Scream 7.
