How the Competition Worked
The show was a cooking competition where amateur chefs tried to impress a panel of expert judges.
Getting Started
In the first part of the competition, called the preliminary stages, people who wanted to be on the show had to cook a special dish. They presented their dish to the judges, who decided if they were good enough to move on. If they passed, they received a white apron, which meant they were officially contestants!
Skills and Invention Tests
After the first round, the contestants faced different challenges. For example, in Season 1, 39 people qualified. They immediately had to show their skills by cutting onions perfectly. Then, they had an "invention test" where they had to create a new dish using a specific ingredient, like tofu. These tests helped the judges find the best cooks.
The Main Competition
Only the top contestants moved on to the main part of the show. They went through many more cooking tests and challenges. Each week, contestants would be eliminated until only one winner remained. The goal was to find the best home cook in Korea!
