Matambú is a special area in Costa Rica. It is a district within the Hojancha canton, which is part of the Guanacaste province.
What makes Matambú unique is that it is the only indigenous territory of the Chorotega people. This means it's a place set aside for the Chorotega, an original group of people from this region, to live and keep their culture alive.
