Bundesliga Success and European Adventures

After his time in England, Gaudino moved to Switzerland to play for FC Basel for the 1997–98 season. He played his first league game for Basel on July 9, 1997. He scored his first goal for the club on July 19.
On April 4, 1998, Gaudino scored three goals in one game, which is called a hat-trick. This helped Basel win 3–1 against Étoile Carouge. He played 42 games for Basel in total, scoring 16 goals.
After Basel, Gaudino played for VfL Bochum for one season. Then, in 1999, he moved to Turkey to play for Antalyaspor. He stayed there until the team was moved to a lower league in the 2001–02 season.
