This Italian group became very popular in 1999 with their huge international hit song, "Blue (Da Ba Dee)". Maurizio Lobina actually created the main tune for "Blue" on a keyboard. He then asked the band's singer, Jeffrey Jey, to come up with "strange lyrics" to go with his music.

Early Life and Music Journey
Maurizio Lobina was born in Asti, Italy. Before joining Eiffel 65, he was part of a band called Vitanova. However, he left that group because the other members did not like dance music. Maurizio preferred dance music, which led him to explore new musical paths.
Meeting Roberto Molinaro
In 1991, Maurizio met Roberto Molinaro. Roberto was an aspiring DJ and producer. Maurizio was also an aspiring musician and producer. When Roberto saw Maurizio play the piano, he invited him to a new music studio in Torino. Maurizio discussed this opportunity with his bandmates, but they preferred rock or pop music over dance music. Despite their different tastes, no one stopped Maurizio from pursuing his passion for dance music.
Joining Bliss Corporation
Maurizio briefly left Bliss Corporation in 1994 to complete his military service. After finishing, he quickly returned to continue his music career. Bliss Corporation was the place where many talented musicians and producers worked together.
Creating "Blue (Da Ba Dee)"
In 1998, after a regular workday at Bliss Corporation, Maurizio composed a tune. He was a bit bored and just started playing around with sounds. He then asked his colleague, Jeffrey Jey, to create some unusual lyrics to finish the song.
Within just a few days, the song "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" was complete. It was arranged, produced, recorded, and released on vinyl records in Italian stores. The song quickly became a massive hit around the world.
Family and Other Projects
Maurizio Lobina has a son. He dedicated the song "Viaggia insieme a me" to him. Maurizio also has a younger brother named Luca. Luca helped the band by taking many of the photos for their album covers.
Bloom 06 and Eiffel 65 Reunion
After Eiffel 65 broke up in 2005, Maurizio Lobina and Jeffrey Jey formed a new band called Bloom 06. They continued to make music together. In 2010, both Maurizio and Jeffrey rejoined Eiffel 65. They have been touring and performing as Eiffel 65 ever since.
