Mauro Alberto Lainez Leyva (born May 9, 1996) is a professional footballer from Mexico. He plays as a winger for the Liga MX club Mazatlán.

Mauro Lainez's Football Journey
Mauro Lainez started his football career at a young age. He joined the Pachuca youth academy in 2011. This is where many young players learn and train to become professional footballers.
Early Career with Pachuca
Mauro made his first professional appearance for Pachuca on August 19, 2015. This was during a Copa MX group stage match. He played for 85 minutes in a game where his team won 4–1.
Playing for Different Clubs
Over the years, Mauro Lainez played for several different clubs, often on loan from Pachuca.
- In the 2017-2018 season, he played for Lobos BUAP.
- After that, he joined Tijuana from 2019 to 2021.
- He then moved to América, first on loan in 2021, and then permanently until 2024.
- During his time at América, he also played on loan for Juárez (2022-2023) and Quéretaro (2023).
- Since 2024, Mauro has been playing for Mazatlán.

Mauro has also represented Mexico in international football.
Playing for Youth Teams
- In 2015, Mauro was part of the Mexico U20 team that played in the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
- He also played in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
- In 2019, he joined the under-23 team for the Pan American Games. His team won the bronze medal in this competition!
Playing for the Senior National Team
Mauro Lainez received his first call-up to the main senior national team in September 2020 for a training camp. He made his official debut for the senior team on December 8, 2021. This was in a friendly match against Chile. He came into the game as a substitute in the 83rd minute.
Family Life
Mauro has a younger brother named Diego. Diego is also a professional footballer! Both brothers started their football journeys in the Pachuca Youth Academy.
