Mauro Alberto Lainez Leyva (born on May 9, 1996) is a professional football player from Mexico. He plays as a winger for the Liga MX club Mazatlán. A winger is a player who mostly plays on the sides of the field.

Mauro Lainez's Club Journey
Mauro Lainez started his football journey at a young age. He joined the Pachuca youth academy in 2011. This is where many young players learn and train to become professional footballers.
Starting at Pachuca
On August 19, 2015, Mauro made his first official game appearance for Pachuca. He played in a Copa MX match against Venados. His team won the game 4–1, and Mauro played for most of the match.
Playing for Other Teams
After his time at Pachuca, Mauro Lainez played for several other teams. He often joined these teams on a "loan" deal. This means he played for them for a set time before returning to his main club.
- In the 2017-2018 season, he played for Lobos BUAP.
- Later, he joined Tijuana and played there for a few years.
- He also played for América, one of Mexico's biggest clubs.
- More recently, he played for Juárez and Querétaro on loan.
- Currently, he plays for Mazatlán.

Mauro Lainez has also represented his country, Mexico, in international football. He has played for different age groups and even for the senior national team.
Youth National Teams
Mauro was chosen to play for the Mexico U20 team in 2015. He took part in the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He also played in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. This is a big tournament for young players from all over the world.
In 2019, Mauro was part of the Mexico U23 team. They competed in the 2019 Pan American Games. His team won the bronze medal, which is a great achievement!
Senior National Team
In September 2020, Mauro Lainez was called up to the senior national team for the first time. This was for a training camp.
He made his official debut for the senior team on December 8, 2021. This was in a friendly match against Chile. He came into the game as a substitute in the 83rd minute.
Mauro's Family Life
Mauro Lainez has a younger brother named Diego. Diego is also a professional football player. Both brothers started their football training at the Pachuca Youth Academy. However, they later went their separate ways in their careers. Diego joined Club América, while Mauro chose to stay at Pachuca for a while longer.
