Maverick Frankera Ahanmisi (born July 17, 1991) is a Filipino-Nigerian-American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was born in the United States but plays in the Philippines because of his mother's Filipino heritage.

Early Life and School Career
High School Basketball
Ahanmisi first attended Stoneridge Prep in Simi Valley, California. He later moved to and graduated from Golden Valley High School in 2009.
During his last year, he was a star player, averaging 20.2 points per game. He became the school's all-time top scorer and best three-point shooter. In 2010, he decided to play college basketball for the University of Minnesota.
College Basketball
From 2010 to 2014, Ahanmisi played for the University of Minnesota, a major college team. He was often a reserve player, meaning he came off the bench to give the team a boost of energy.
He was known for leading the team's second group of players. In 2014, he helped his team, the Golden Gophers, win the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) championship. During his four years in college, he averaged 2.8 points and 1 rebound per game.
Starting His Career in the Philippines
After college, Ahanmisi moved to the Philippines in 2014 to continue his basketball career. He joined the Cafe France Bakers in the PBA Developmental League, a league that helps players prepare for the professional PBA.
He made a strong impression right away. In his first game, he scored 10 points during an 18–0 run for his team. He became the team's top scorer, and in 2015, he led Café France to its first-ever championship in the league.
Professional PBA Career
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
In 2015, Ahanmisi entered the 2015 PBA draft, where teams select new players. He was chosen as the 3rd overall pick by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. He signed a two-year contract with the team.
In a game against the Mahindra Enforcer on October 25, 2015, he had a great performance. He scored 11 of his 14 points in the final quarter, helping his team win. When the team's star player, Paul Lee, was injured, Ahanmisi stepped up and played a bigger role.
Alaska Aces and Converge FiberXers
On August 16, 2019, Ahanmisi was traded to the Alaska Aces. He played with them until the team was sold.
In June 2022, the team became the Converge FiberXers, and Ahanmisi signed a one-year contract to stay with the new team. After his contract ended in June 2023, he became a free agent, which meant he could sign with any team.
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel
On September 18, 2023, Ahanmisi signed a three-year contract with one of the most popular teams in the PBA, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Personal Life
Ahanmisi has a diverse family background. His father, Victor Ahanmisi, is from Nigeria, and his mother, Marissa Frankera, is a Filipina from Alcala, Pangasinan.
He has a brother named Jerrick, who also plays professional basketball for the Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA, and a sister named Mylenne.
