Maxim Dadashev was a talented Russian boxer. He was born in Leningrad, which was then part of the Soviet Union, on September 30, 1990. Maxim competed in the light-welterweight division, which is for boxers weighing around 63.5 kilograms. He was known for his skills in the ring and was a Russian amateur champion. Maxim sadly passed away on July 23, 2019.

Maxim's Early Boxing Days
Maxim Dadashev started his boxing journey as an amateur. He showed great promise early on.
- In 2008, he won a silver medal at the Youth World Championships in Mexico. He competed in the 57 kg weight class.
- Maxim also studied at Baltic State Technical University. He earned a degree in sports management.
- He continued to achieve success in amateur boxing. He won bronze medals at the Russian National Championships in 2010 and 2012.
- In 2013, he earned a silver medal at the Russian National Championships. This was in the 64 kg weight class.
Becoming a Professional Boxer
Maxim Dadashev turned professional in 2016. He was trained by a former world champion, Buddy McGirt.
- Maxim won his first 13 professional fights. This was a great start to his career.

A Tragic Fight
On July 19, 2019, Maxim Dadashev had a very important fight. He fought against Subriel Matías in Maryland, USA.
- This fight was an elimination bout. The winner would get a chance to fight for the IBF light-welterweight title.
- During the fight, Maxim's trainer, Buddy McGirt, became worried. He saw that Maxim was taking many hits.
- At the end of the eleventh round, his trainer decided to stop the fight. He believed it was too dangerous for Maxim to continue.
- Maxim did not want the fight to stop. But his trainer made the difficult choice for his safety.
- After the fight, Maxim needed help leaving the ring. He collapsed and felt very unwell.
- He was quickly taken to the hospital. Doctors found that he had a serious injury to his brain.
- Despite emergency surgery, Maxim's condition worsened. He passed away in the hospital on July 23, 2019.
- Maxim is survived by his wife, Elizaveta, and their young son.
After the Tragedy
After Maxim's death, many people offered support.
- The Boxing Federation of Russia started an investigation. They wanted to understand what happened.
- They also promised to help Maxim's family financially.
- The Maryland State Athletic Commission also began its own investigation.
- Maxim's body was sent back to his hometown in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His funeral services and burial took place there.
- His promoter, Bob Arum, paid for the funeral costs.
- A special online fundraiser was set up. This helped raise money for Maxim's wife and son.
- The farewell ceremony for Maxim was held in Petergof on August 4.
