McCall Creek was started by settlers in the early 1900s. It was named after the McCall family, who were among the first people to live there. In 1911, it became an official "village" called McCall. This meant it had its own local government for a while.
The village had 140 people living there in 1920. By 1930, the population grew to 169 people. After that, the community went back to being unincorporated. It no longer had its own village government.
